The exhibition Visions and Views: works by Torild Stray opened in a warm, vibrant atmosphere. We acknowledge the opening’s guests’ dedication to art and community, by showing their appreciation of Torild Stray’s fascinating work. Also, their acquisitions help finance our mission.

The exhibition comprises two main series: paintings of the New York City skyline produced during The World View Artist Residency high up at the former WTC, and a series of representations of Stray’s intimate world, transformed into visions by her gaze. Other works include landscapes and drawings.

Strays works have been installed at the 9/11 Memorial & Museum:

Torild Stray shared with us her approach to the subject, to the figurative vs the abstract, and to  color, which is recorded in the featured video.

Torild Stray has been an early supporter of our Gallery’s mission to expand the reach of art. We break up the model of the white cube gallery by showing art in intimate spaces, including people’s homes. Everyone can be a gallerist.
