The drawing session with Torild Stray attracted a youthful, vibrant lot.

People came from close and far, and exhibited an astounding range of talent even amongst those that did not consider themselves “artists”. The mood was relaxed, friendly and non competitive.

We worked with a wonderful model, Kaylee Johnson (no photos for obvious reason!), who took some complex poses involving twists and stretches and weight shifts. She was also gorgeous.

Poses lasted between 2 and 20 minutes. Torild gave us various prompts. We used pencil, charcoal, and painting pens. She also directed an exercise where we just worked with shading and volumes: no lines!

We enjoyed being surrounded by Sophia Gibbins’ artworks which inspired us, while we worked on our drawings.
