Arabella von Arx

Curator

Arabella von Arx is the founder of Gallery Particulier. With a background in film and media, she let her attraction to the visual arts take over her professional life, and has not looked back. She is an art critic, and writes reviews about exhibitions in New York and in Europe. Her articles have appeared in Riot Material, Le Temps, Litro UK, Arte Fuse, The Decadent Review, and more.

Having served as the Executive Director of IQ, an international organization of film producers, she is bringing that experience to Gallery Particulier, as well as her passion for art, for people, for connecting all sorts of dots. Joy and kindness are not to be discounted, as far as she is concerned.

She lives in Brooklyn, having grown in Switzerland, and spent some wonderful years in London. She’s a writer. A friend (a good one, she hopes). An activist. A dreamer. A doer.

Holm Lamp

Art and Business Manager

Holm Lamp is the Art and Business Manager at Gallery Particulier, where he is responsible for managing fair application, artist communication, and strategy. He additionally works on communications and gallery outreach.

With all-hands-on deck experience working event promotion, album drop crunch efforts, and wrangling punk musicians in Beijing, he does what needs doing under time pressure.

Lamp has a background in art curation and studio art, and a deep knowledge of Chinese literary and artistic traditions. A clear communicator, he has earned a CEU in Art Business Foundations from Sotheby’s Institute of Art, and a Bachelor of Arts in East Asian Studies at Bucknell University. He has also pursued coursework at National Taiwan University and Liaoning University in China.

Lamp is fired up by Chinese aesthetics; Japanese and Chinese woodblock printing; buddhist art (woven and sculpted); and irreverent contemporary artists who blend mediums, and incorporate and leverage traditional motifs to make radical art in dialogue with the oppressive influence of politics, hierarchy, and state confucianism. He also has a depth of formal, practical experience in printmaking.
