Amir Bey

We are thrilled to announce that an exhibit with three Gallery Particulier artists  – Amir Bey, Grace Nkem, and Obinna Elechi – has been awarded a coveted exhibition space by Chashama, a renowned non-profit arts organization. This is a significant milestone for us, as Chashama is highly selective when it comes to allocating their spaces.

A Competitive Application Process

Securing an exhibition space with ChaShaMa is no easy feat. Artists from all over the world compete for the opportunity to showcase their work in these desirable spaces. We are proud that our artists have stood out among the fierce competition.

Introducing “Amir Bey, Grace Nkem, and Obinna Elechi: A Triangulation”

The upcoming exhibition, titled “Amir Bey, Grace Nkem, and Obinna Elechi: A Triangulation,” promises to be a visually compelling and thought-provoking experience. It is curated by Grace Nkem and Arabella von Arx.

By setting the works of the three artists in dialogue, the show triangulates their particular place in the visual arts. A kind of geolocation in the planet as they have lived in Nigeria, Russia, Japan, Holland, and the US.

While they have experienced several continents, the three of them draw to various degrees on Africa for inspiration..The influence of traditional African art, craft, and ritual in the development of modern art cannot be overstated— but a more poignant conversation is the current resurgence of these influences by way of artists from the African diaspora.

Opening on Nov 30, 2023 in the Upper East Side

We invite the adventurous art lover to join us for the opening, and be captivated by the artists’ unique perspectives and artistic flair. It will open its doors to the public on November 30 from 6-8 p.m. at 340 East 64th Street in Manhattan.
