On Sunday May 19 , we flew together. Arms out, wind in the face, – here we go!
People from the neighborhood(s) gathered to meet other people, filmmakers, event producers, Lady Brew, artists, curators and more. We were glad to welcome the remarkable painter Mayowa Nwadike who has a show opening this weekend at the Southampton African American Museum.
Lou and Jay from Micasa, the app that connects performers and spaces and audiences, came to enjoy the vibrant, inviting evening.
The atmosphere was intimate and friendly. The Playground brought their wonderful music, Brit with her voice that soars, Miguel Ragel Wilson on the keyboard. And Chuckey DJed with his magical touch: we were dancing in the gallery, while the art danced on the walls.
There were people of all ages, from various continents, some homegrown too. Our mission is to make the experience of visual arts intimate and friendly. Sunday was so enjoyable, it made us proud and happy and grateful to our community.
The exhibition Let It Fly: A Gallery Particulier artists group show will go on until June 4, 2024. On that night of storytelling entitled “Because, Summer”, the winners of the raffle will be pulled, and will take an artwork home for 5 months. RSVP contact@galleryparticulier.org.
