At Gallery Particulier, we strive to expand the reach of visual art. Thankfully, there are some like-minded people in our great city, and we have enjoyed a number of rewarding collaborations. Meet curator Richard Burroughs. His brilliant show, Cover Lover Remix, bridges the fields of music and art.
We are often very attached to album covers, often we have grown with them without realizing that it is a form of visual art. Richard took advantage of this natural merge and asked artists to “remix” a favorite album cover. The result is an exhilarating show, with takes that are witty, poetic, or brilliant. It’s a lot of fun to try to guess the original cover, and a QR code confirms the accuracy of our guesses.
The exhibition is held in a picturesque 19th-century industrial loft, in the vibrant Garner Art Center with many other venues and artists’ studios. And a fantastic brewery!
For urbanites amongst us, the center is a stone’s throw from Bear Mountain, – a nice outing combining nature and culture can be had.
