Because, Solidarity

Collective Tales: Because, Solidarity

“Solidarity is not an act of charity but mutual aid between forces fighting for the same objective.”
– Samora Machel, 1st President of Mozambique

Brooklyn, NY – February 18, 2025 – Gallery Particulier presents Because, Solidarity, the next edition of our Collective Tales storytelling series. Hosted at 281 Maple St, Brooklyn, this special night will be MCed by Comrade Cav, a beloved figure in Brooklyn’s music scene and a talented writer.

We’re living in turbulent times—democracy feels fragile, and civil rights are under threat. In NYC, undocumented families live in fear, facing raids and uncertainty. But history shows us that solidarity is a powerful force, a shield against injustice.

At Because, Solidarity, we’ll explore how mutual support has helped our community overcome hardship and how we can lean on each other to face today’s challenges. Community organizers and everyday New Yorkers will share their stories, and as always, we’ll invite the audience to take part in an interactive experience that deepens our collective understanding.

With Comrade Cav at the helm, expect an evening full of energy, connection, and powerful storytelling.
