Unboxed: Black Fathers Are Present at The Alex House Project
September 18 @ 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm
Gallery Particulier presents
The exhibit Unboxed: Black Fathers Are Present will be at
The Alex House Project 9 Bond St, 4th fl, from Sept 18 until Oct 23.
Visiting hours are Mon – Fri, 11AM – 3:45PM.
Created by Brooklyn artist Dáreece Walker, the exhibition challenges the stereotype of the absent Black father through powerful portraits of Black fathers with their children. These images come from the artist observing Black fathers with their children in our city. We see them every day too.
Now, these images are seen by young adults who are themselves navigating parenthood.
The Alex House Project was founded by visionary leader Samora Coles. They help young parents thrive and blossom: a beautiful mission.
We are delighted with this alliance, as art brings enrichment in people’s lives, and reinforces a sense of identity and social cohesion.
