A video: Sem’s story

Sem, a Haitian immigrant, tells of a series of hardships during his 40 years in New York City. Despite these challenges, Sem found solace in art. He chose “Royal Roots, The Chalumeau Family,” a powerful piece by second-generation Haitian artist Samara Chalumeau, who also resides in Flatbush, Brooklyn.

Sem’s story reflects the heart of Gallery Particulier’s mission: innovating with art sharing by bringing art into homes and lives in meaningful ways. Sem, who had only visited a museum once in his life, was able to experience art daily in the comfort of his home, developing a personal connection with it.

Your Donations Make Art Accessible For All!

-through a unique strategy-

Your support makes our mission possible. With your donations, we can continue sharing art in groundbreaking ways, creating unique and meaningful connections between art and the community.

As the only organization in New York City dedicated to this innovative approach, your contribution helps us reach even more people and make art accessible to all. Thank you for helping us transform how art is experienced!

In 2024 we stretched every dollar we received from Con Edison, Puffin Foundation, and primarily from donors like you. Proof in the pudding right here: our work in 2023 and 2024.

You can enrich someone’s life through art:

A video: Tricia’s story

Tricia, a local painter originally from Romania, walked into a storytelling event focused on friendship. Feeling unsettled by current events in the U.S., she found comfort and connection in this unique gathering.

Her heartfelt reaction captures the essence of what we strive for at Gallery Particulier: creating an intimate, welcoming space where art and stories bring people together.
