Unboxed: Black Fathers Are Present at The Alex House Project

On September 18, The exhibit Unboxed: Black Fathers Are Present opens at The Alex House Project.

Created by Brooklyn artist Dáreece Walker, the exhibition challenges the stereotype of the absent Black father through powerful portraits of Black fathers with their children. These images come from the artist observing Black fathers with their children in our city. We see them every day too.
Now, these images will be seen by young adults who are themselves navigating parenthood.
The Alex House Project was founded by visionary leader Samora Coles. They help young parents thrive and blossom: a beautiful mission.
We are delighted with this alliance, as art brings enrichment in people’s lives, and reinforces a sense of identity and social cohesion.
