Artist Bio

Yoshiko Mukai Williamson is a Japanese-born, New York–based artist whose work explores memory, migration, and the quiet poetics of everyday life. Working across painting, collage, and installation, Williamson weaves personal and collective histories into layered visual narratives that reflect on belonging, transformation, and the passage of time. Her practice often incorporates found materials, textiles, and natural elements—echoing her interest in impermanence and the tactile traces of human experience.

Williamson studied fine art in both Japan and the United States, and her bicultural perspective deeply informs her sensitivity to form, texture, and space. Her work has been exhibited in galleries and alternative art spaces throughout New York City and abroad. Through her art, Williamson invites viewers into moments of contemplation, where fragility and resilience coexist in quiet harmony.
