Gallery Particulier is proud to announce that renowned curator and activist Racquel Chevremont will curate the upcoming exhibition Body Positivity – Gender Euphoria, opening this fall in Prospect Lefferts Gardens, Brooklyn.
Chevremont, an openly lesbian curator and longtime advocate for BIPOC and LGBTQ+ artists, brings her singular vision and curatorial voice to this project at a moment when queer rights and freedoms are under threat from an increasingly fundamentalist political climate. With her leadership, the exhibition will serve not only as an artistic showcase, but also as a powerful act of visibility and resistance.
Body Positivity – Gender Euphoria will highlight works by both emerging and established artists, each engaging with themes of identity, liberation, and the celebration of embodiment. For artists, being selected by Chevremont is widely recognized as a meaningful distinction—her career has been defined by amplifying voices excluded from traditional art spaces, and her curatorial practice has reshaped how museums, galleries, and audiences encounter queer and BIPOC narratives.
“Curating this exhibition in Brooklyn is deeply significant to me,” says Chevremont. “At a time when queer bodies and queer lives are being legislated against, it is urgent to assert our visibility, our joy, and our right to exist fully. Body Positivity – Gender Euphoria is about celebrating who we are, and about standing together against those who would seek to silence us.”
The exhibition will run in tandem with Killer Queen Opera’s immersive production MADAM, a bold new opera reclaiming the life of immigrant and cultural figure Polly Adler. Together, the opera and the exhibition create an interdisciplinary dialogue about resilience, liberation, and chosen family—past and present.
With Body Positivity – Gender Euphoria, Gallery Particulier continues its mission of bringing meaningful, accessible cultural experiences into community spaces, while affirming the gallery as a site of resistance, celebration, and collective belonging.
