Gallery Particulier was created to share the exceptional artistic talent of our city with our communities—and Monday night’s Energy Exchange: A Portraiture Night was a perfect example of just that. The gallery was alive with creativity as artists of all backgrounds—emerging and established, trained and self-taught—came together to paint live portraits. The talent, skill, and dedication on display were just astounding.

But the true stars of the evening were the sitters. They came from all walks of life—young and not-so-young, reflecting a beautiful diversity of identities—and brought their full selves to the experience. The result was a vibrant atmosphere filled with connection, warmth, and a whirlpool of creative energy.

There was so much energy, and many exchanges!

Why do people sit for a portrait today? In the past, it was often about legacy and power. Today, it’s something more intimate—about being seen through someone else’s eyes. It’s about interpretation, perspective, and the dialogue between artist and subject. On Monday, that dialogue came alive. Each artist brought their unique style and voice, producing portraits that were not only likenesses but artistic reflections of human presence.

We are deeply grateful to the artists and sitters for making the night so special. Your openness, creativity, and adventurous spirits embody what Gallery Particulier is all about—building community through art.
