Artist Bio
Ronen Gamil is a multidisciplinary artist whose work interrogates history, power, and cultural displacement. Through painting, sculpture, and mixed media, he explores themes of identity, erasure, and resistance, often reworking historical narratives to reveal hidden or suppressed truths. Gamil’s art challenges dominant perspectives, encouraging viewers to reconsider the ways history is constructed and whose voices are heard. His work is deeply personal yet universally resonant, addressing questions of belonging and the fluidity of cultural identity.
Gamil’s work has been exhibited in esteemed institutions, including The Museum of Contemporary Art Chicago, The Studio Museum in Harlem, and The Queens Museum, among others. His pieces are also held in private collections, reflecting their impact beyond traditional gallery spaces. By blending historical research with contemporary critique, Gamil’s practice serves as both a reflection and an act of resistance, using art to confront the past while shaping new, more inclusive narratives.
